Some work doesn't fit neatly into a department.Neither do I.
I'm Alex Brener, a product engineer, founder and growth systems consultant. I work across product, engineering and growth, from figuring out what should be built to actually making it work.
Build products.
Build growth systems.
Connect the two.
Some problems need strategy. Some need engineering. Most interesting ones need both.
From an early idea or an ambiguous problem to something people can actually use.
Build the infrastructure behind acquisition, conversion and measurement, rather than treating them as disconnected activities.
Make product, marketing, engineering and data work as one system.
I've been building for a while.
Three deep cases follow, one for each capability. They are selected evidence, not the whole record.

Different problems. Same habit: figure it out and build it.
Three deep examples, one for each capability territory, chosen from a much larger body of work.
Guesty
≈4 years
Owned and built across the intersection of marketing, product and engineering, from registration and lead routing to web infrastructure and conversion systems.
I also technically led two major rebrands, from specifications and workflows to QA and hands-on code. The second moved the site from a WordPress-only build to a Next.js/React frontend on a WordPress backend. I built the technical case for that architecture and recommended it to management.
Payoneer
To get past the limits of the landing-page platform, I engineered a modular framework on top of it: 16 section types, each configurable for a light or dark theme and left, center or right alignment, with responsive and interactive components throughout. It became the production system behind 350+ landing pages in 18 languages, including A/B testing.
Later I initiated the move away from Unbounce, analyzed the alternatives, recommended Webflow, and rebuilt the framework there as the first part of the migration.
LongTailAds
I turned a methodology I'd originally developed for large-scale Google Search campaigns into a working product, taking it from product logic and UX through architecture, engineering, AI workflows and launch.
Three term lists combine into structured ad groups. Campaign settings and AI assistance shape them, and the output is ready-to-review search ads on the way to CSV export.
longtailads.com↗More work across the spectrum
Selected projects from a broader body of work, spanning digital products and platforms, acquisition systems and growth leadership.
I've spent most of my career in the gaps between job descriptions.
I started in design and web, founded my first digital agency in 2007, and quickly learned that building the thing was only part of the problem. You also had to understand the customer, acquisition, conversion, technology and the business behind it.
That took me from running my own agency to marketing engineering at Payoneer, growth and product infrastructure at Guesty, and eventually back to building products and consulting through Brener.Digital.
Along the way, the boundaries between product, engineering and growth became increasingly difficult to see.
Which, as it turns out, suits me rather well.

Contrast Interactive ran for roughly twelve years: 150+ clients, 100+ complex websites, a team of up to ten, and the business behind the work. It is where the breadth came from.
Different problems need different setups.
A senior technical and strategic perspective on product, growth or the systems connecting them.
Working inside your team when the problem needs sustained ownership rather than occasional advice.
Taking a defined problem from concept and architecture through implementation and launch.
Exploring a product, market or opportunity worth building together.
Small by design.
I stay personally involved in every engagement.
When a problem needs expertise outside my core areas, I work with senior specialists I trust, bringing together the right people around the problem rather than building layers between the client and the work.
Got something that doesn't fit neatly into a department?Let's talk.
A product to build, a growth system to improve, an idea to test, or something we haven't put a label on yet.
